Teaching Leadership and More

Yesterday (13 August), I conducted a workshop on strategic leadership for Dr. Samir Khalif and his top leadership team at the GRU Cancer Center. It was a pleasure to interact with such a talented group.  In next two months, I will conduct three more workshops for the professionals who work at the GRU Cancer Center. The topics of these additional sessions will be  strategic planning, heroism, and leadership for supervisors and staff members. Those in attendance will receive copies of two books, Rules and Tools for Leaders (4th edition) and Courage, Compassion, Marine.

From my perspective this arrangement is ideal.  I am given time to develop important points and each participant will take home books that they can use in the months and years ahead. The same pattern (workshop plus books) will be followed on 11 September with Leadership Augusta.

Most of my presentations are not open to the public. However, I will be conducting four workshops at the Blue Ridge Conference on Leadership from 14 through 16 October. This three-day conference will be held in Black Mountain, North Carolina. It is open to the public, is quite inexpensive and is held at a time when the weather is grand and the trees are changing their colors. The web site is www.blueridgeleadership.com. Please feel free to contact the delightful Hope Stockton at hope.stockton@auburn.edu.

Attending this conference from Augusta are Nancy Glaser from the Augusta Museum of History, George and Susan Muir from St. Paul’s Church and Reab Berry from Georgia Iron Works.  Hopefully others from the CSRA will come.
